Many workplaces do not adhere to the POSH Act in letter and in spirit and constitute Internal Committee (IC) wrongly, which not only reduces the chances of fair trial and redress for Sexual Harassment at Work but also make an organisation non-compliant

The PoSH Act provides for empanelment of an external members in the Internal Committee (IC) at any organisation in order to be compliant with the PoSH Act.

The Law mentions the following qualifiers for being an External Member must be amongst non-governmental organizations or associations committed to the cause of women or a person familiar with the issues relating to sexual harassment.
